Yesterday we had a joint meeting, and Kim and I were able to go. We only had one little guy in nursery so we put him in the older class (where he should be going anyway!) and we headed off to class. It's funny when you are young you don't want to go to class and then when you are older you want to go. The lesson was on family home storage and the changes of the food storage program. It was very good and made me really start thinking about being prepared!
They are only doing canning every other month now but will have a list of suggestions of things to buy. Example: water bottles
paper towels
tomato sauce
cake mix
tooth paste
And every month there will be something to work on like in August it will be- Water Storage
They want us to focus on
1. Three month supply. Food you use regularly.
2. Store drinking water.
3. Establish a financial reserve.
4. Have a long-time supply of wheat, rice and beans.
I have all these plant shelves threw out the house so I started buying baskets to fit up in the shelves to put water bottles in. I was always buying extra water but we would use it before I would be able to go buy more so this new plan will hopefully work out.
