"Ripple Nipple" as Jacki would call it!

For years we have been going on girl trips in fact I think one of our very first was for Bridget's 21st birthday! WOW! Over 10 years! We have always gone to the same old places Utah, Vegas and California. So, we started a new tradition. Everyone me, Paige, Bridget, Jacki, Kansas and mom would pick a fun and different place and then we would put everyone picks in a hat and who's trip gets picked that's where we go & the person kinda plans it with our help. For our first time Bridget's trip got picked which was Indiana, and our hubby's all thought we were crazy!
Now I must explain why Bridget would pick Indiana for our trip. Bridget has two adorable girls and Bridget loves to find cute and different clothes for them She loves Matilda Jane clothing it's online but once a year they have a huge Art Fair in Ft. Wayne Indiana where the creator is from & because Bridget is such a fan we had to go:)
Since Mom works at the airline Mom, Jacki and I flew the night before on stand by tickets and we all were so surprised all three of us were able to get on that same flight. We got into Indianapolis early in the morning, checked into our room and rested a bit. We then got cleaned up and went and ate and of course did some shopping. Everything was very close so we could walk. We had a fun night! Bridget and Paige didn't get in until late and Kansas missed this trip. And since she is a newly wed we gave her a pass this time:)
The next morning we packed up and headed for Fort Wayne we did a little shopping and ate some really yummy Italian.
None of us knew really what to expect at the Art Fair. I couldn't believe how many people were there and all the food and entertainment. So the whole reason we went was for the next morning of shopping. The company makes one of a kind outfits that you can only get at the Fair. They were opening their doors at 8am but said we couldn't come wait in line until 5am in the morning. Well we were about to leave when Mom said lets go see the Matilda Jane sign and get some pictures. WOW, were we shocked when we found people already in line! It was 9pm for heaven sakes!
We sure do love Bridget!! I stayed in line with Bridget while the others went to get blankets, snacks, cards and comfy clothes. We spent the entire night with thousands of other moms and had a blast! This part ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. All of us are big "Black Friday" shoppers so we were not new to this:) We had so much fun getting to know all the other woman around us. 11 hours later we finally got in the door to all the cuteness!! We had already decided we were not going back to our hotel, knowing that we would sleep and miss a whole day of fun!
We went to breakfast I'm sad I can't remember any of the names of the fun places we went. This is way I should blog as soon as I get home. Then we went to a street fair and some more shopping. We then went to visit Amish country. This was so fun to see how they live. We follow some that were in their buggy and took pictures. We also went to their cute country store & bought yummy peanut butter. We went to some antique stores and had so much fun looking all the cute houses.
We really started to get slap happy and I'm sure everyone around us thought we were crazy but we sure had fun! By the time we got back to the hotel we were all more then ready to sleep!! After a long nice nap we woke up and went to get something for dinner. Then we went back to the hotel to pack & be ready to leave in the morning.
We got all ready and packed up the car. We went to Broad Ripple or as Jacki called it "Ripple Nipple" we had really yummy breakfast bagels and there were all kinds of fun cute little shops. After lots of shopping we headed to the mall for Bridget, Jacki and Bridget to grab some baseball t-shirts for their hubby's before we dropped Paige & Bridget off at the airport. Jacki, Mom and I got ice cream, filled up the rental with gas and then headed back to the airport. Once again we were surprised we made it on the flight & even scored first class seats. SWEET!
I had so much fun and so grateful to Mike for always being so willing to hold the fort down so I can have fun with my girlies!!! Until next year!
